Dr. Laura Worthy:

Dr. Laura Worthy opened Mill Creek Veterinary Hospital in December, 2007. She is a native of Stephens County, graduating from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. For 29 years, she has worked in small animal practice. She also participated in an anesthesia program at the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University. In addition, Dr. Worthy was a surgery instructor at The University of Wisconsin and Auburn University.

Areas of Interest

Dr. Worthy founded Mill Creek Veterinary Hospital with the goal of providing high quality, personalized, and affordable health care for that special furry family member. Her areas of interest include soft tissue surgery, endocrinology, cardiology and general small animal medicine. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Feline Practitioners.

Personal Life

Dr. Worthy is married to Bo Worthy and  has 3 children (Katie, Leah and Peyton), 2 dogs (Eliot and Krayzelberg) and a cat (Blue). She enjoys walking, running and playing tennis. She also enjoys music and is an occasional member of the Toccoa Symphony Orchestra.

 

 

Dr. Jhondra Funk-Keenan, DVM, PhD

     Dr. Funk-Keenan is a native of a small farming community in southern Pennsylvania.  She graduated with her veterinary degree from the University of Wisconsin in 2010.  After graduation, she practiced in New Jersey and South Carolina at specialty referral clinics.  Dr. Funk-Keenan's interests are internal medicine, preventative medicine, exotic animal medicine, and abdominal ultrasound.  She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Greater Columbia Veterinary Association.  In her spare time, Dr. Funk-Keenan enjoys watching college football and spending time with her husband, Scot and her newborn son, Pierce!
